I also recommend git over subversion, I used http://gitx.frim.nl/ for a while and recently been trying out http://github.com/Caged/gitnub - both osx clients.

There are a few inline menu subversion clients for macs, but I'v yet to find one as good as tortoisesvn. ;_;

Sorry, I use the windows tortoise client and just issue the commands through the shell when on linux. There are a couplke of different subversion clients for eclipse, so perhaps try a different one?

How do you use the various different bits of software? had a look at subversion plugin for eclipse, it broke my eclipse when i tried to install, any ideas?

ps I would recommend using the pro service - from US$5 a month, split between 4 project members... far less than the price of a round of drinks.

Free and very cheap hosting for your subversion repositories. Looks v good - and very very cheap for the service.

Subversion (SVN). Not sure what client you would use on the Mac, but there's a plugin for eclipse. The Windows tortoise clients are installed on the E113 comps for Git, SVN, and CVS.

If you look at practical 3 for AWGD here you will see that I briefly introduce the topic of version control using Subversion.

Hope that helps
