The WoSGamers Wiki has been further tidied up. There are now links to personal e-portfolios. Your degree grad group is at http://wosgamedev.wikispaces.com/cgt10. Or you can get there via Community->Wiki->student stuff->CGT grad class 2010. Plz add your link asap.

Guys anyone going to the Aardvark Swift presentation tomorrow instead of class, let me know. Colin had this to say on the matter:

Hi Ben,

Can you find out how many others will be attending. If it is too many I
will simply
ditch the class this week.

Thanks

Colin

haha yeah you are not the only one to have noticed the irony in that approach

Anyone else amused by the fact we've been taught to code, then to analyze, then to Test, and finally to design?

oh well, i guess OO would be a good module as its one aspect though we have been expected to use its principles, i dont feel we have ever been given formal specific instruction on its methods.

Ben, yeh, b*mm*r. Frank is now off ill long-term and there is a substitute teacher in there. It was all dependent on everything going well, which it hasn't. I talked with the faculty ehad at Govan HS today and he is in agreement with the depute rector.

However, Malcolm Bronte-Stewart, who runs the WBL module, may have other ideas. He contacted me today and said so. I don't know what they are, but you could talk directly with him at Malcolm.Bronte-Stewart@uws.ac.uk.

I've also invited him to join the WoSGamers site, but he may not do that.

Ah, that's not so good... Any chance of any other more "interesting" modules running?
John Sutherland Comment by John Sutherland on January 10, 2009 at 1:52pm
Chaps, I regret the WBL module won't run next semester. The problem ahs been one of the recurring illness of the school teacher at Govan HS and the logistical backlog this has caused. I talked with the depute rector yesterday and the project is on hold until Frank gets back to work.

Here's one from left field, if you set up a company you could do your own WBL possibly. Mebbes talk to Malcolm Bronte-Stewart who runs the module. Or, its OO ...

Right, that's us 4/6. Awesome.

Me and Ben had a talk with John (Sutherland) today about the 2nd 'Trimester' module about Work-Based Learning. It'd probably replace O.O.Programming, and it seems like a fairly good idea thought both have their pros/cons. Drop me an e-mail if you want the gist of what it's about. Do so soon because there is the option of going to the school next Wednesday (17th) to see what it's like/meet Frank (If I remember correctly, the guy who runs it there). Though I've not made any decisions myself it's definately something to consider seriously.

Also take a look at the forum thread if you want more details on it. Er, link, is...
